Optional activities are aimed at developing the skills necessary for an independent life and others that are not directly related to specific work tasks, such as unwinding, achieving emotional balance, feeling joy and pleasure.
The availability of these activities takes into account the need to respect the anti-institutional nature of the Day Care Centre social service by keeping the daily routine of clients confined to the centre alone.

The programme includes the following activities: • encouraging and supporting clients to organise their leisure time themselves, organising meetings with friends and visiting different activities outside the Centre;
• organising group yoga and physical exercises sessions; cooperation with Special Olympic to ensure involvement in the sports activities and events organised;
• attending cultural events for those interested in specific events or different forms of art;
• stimulating interest in different arts, and discussions of films and plays.
