Let's Live Together – active participation of people with intellectual difficulties in the social and cultural life of Sofia.
The aim of our project is to facilitate and promote dialogue between people with intellectual difficulties and the citizens of the capital city by nurturing an environment that contributes to the development of Sofia as a modern and tolerant European city.
In a series of six one-day training events four young people with intellectual difficulties were trained in basic skills enabling them to defend their rights and seek assistance in various real-life situations.
The participants who successfully completed the training joined in solving practical problems and took part in exercises and role play that helped them acquire practical experience and knowledge.
An analysis was conducted of the social services available to people with intellectual difficulties in Sofia and the surrounding area.
The US model of social service delivery to people with intellectual difficulties was showcased.
A brochure was developed and printed in 500 copies, containing key information about the Foundation and people with intellectual difficulties. A fundraiser was organised, which was attended by more than 90 guests, which contributed to raising funds for the daily activities of the organisation.
